Founded in 1808 by D. João VI, the park has 360 thousand meters of area, visitation, in the Institute of Botany. Indicated to give a tour and meet the Brazilian vegetation. In your area are diverse in plant species extinction, such as Pau-Brasil, in addition to the already famous imperial palms, wins régias, aracá yellow, the stick mulato, the medical beds and the Japanese gardens. A stroll through the park will also reveal a rich historical and cultural heritage, such as the former factory of Gunpowder, the House of Pilões, the House of Cedros, the former portal of the Academy of Fine Arts and the Imperatriz Solar, which houses the National School Botany of Tropical, the first of its kind in Latin America.
